Beach Drive Reconstruction Project Fall 2016 to Fall 2019

Many visitors to Peirce Mill travel via Beach Drive so this notice may be important to you.

WASHINGTON – The National Park Service (NPS) will begin a three-year rehabilitation project after Labor Day to repair Beach Drive; providing a safer trip through Rock Creek Park for vehicles, bicyclists and pedestrians, while maintaining the historic characteristic of the park.

The project will happen in four segments commencing Fall 2016.

Segment 1 – Connecticut Ave NW to Tilden St NW
Segment 2 – Tilden St NW to Broad Branch Rd
Segment 3 – Broad Branch Rd to Joyce Rd
Segment 4 – Joyce Rd to DC/MD Border

During each segment, the northbound and southbound lanes of Beach Drive will be closed 24/7 to all users.
