DESCRIPTION:The Mid-Atlantic Grain Fair is a free\, family-friendly event that celebrates the Mid-Atlantic region’s vibrant history of local grain growing\, milling\, and baking. There will be a classroom with grain cooking demonstrations and tastings\, live milling demonstrations at Peirce Mill\, and a farmers’ market with regional grain fare. Check out our market featuring the following vendors:\nBreadfurst\nThis James Beard award-winning bakery will offer a variety of breads\, breakfast pastries and desserts. \n\nEastern National\nShop merchandise from the Friends of Pierce Mill and Eastern National to support our national parks. \nEl Solosito\nA local vendor featuring authentic tacos and pupusas. \nFireside Farm\nCGA member Fireside Farm grows veggies and wheat to make sourdough pizzas featuring seasonal ingredients. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMaple & Rye Bakery\nA new addition to the Brunswick\, MD\, neighborhood\, CGA member Maple & Rye will provide local & seasonal whole grain pastries. \nMaracas Ice Pops\nEnjoy frozen Mexican ice pops\, try the Horchata flavor made with oats from CGA member Purple Mountain Grown! \nMid-Atlantic Grain Stand\nShop a variety of local grains and flours from eleven different CGA members! This grain stand is operated in partnership between CGA & FRESHFARM. \n\n\n\n\n\n\nMORE MISU: Drinkable Meals\nMISU translates to “rice water” in Korean\, but it’s much more than that. This CGA member soaks\, steams\, dehydrates\, roasts\, grinds & mixes 5 different grains for exact periods of time to create this drinkable meal. \n\n\n\n\n\nZeke’s Coffee\nSmall-batch\, family-owned coffee roastery based in Baltimore\, MD. Coffee & beans will be available for purchase. \nFree public programs at Peirce Mill are supported in part by the DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities\, which receives support from the National Endowment for the Arts. \nMilling operations at Peirce Mill are made possible in part by a grant from the National Park Foundation.
